Web Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. Synovate Pty. Ltd. conforms to industry standard market research practice, as espoused by the Australian Market and Social Research Society. We are personally committed and ethically bound by a Code of Professional Behaviour to keep your identity confidential. This assures you that our research is carried out honestly, objectively and without unwelcome intrusion or disadvantage to you as a respondent. In fact, at Synovate Pty. Ltd. we have no interest in the actual identity of individuals. The information we collect is only ever used for statistical purposes and always reported in aggregate form. We do not report any data which identifies you as an individual respondent, unless you request us to for a particular purpose. Please be assured that your details will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided them for. We will clearly outline this to you before you submit any personal details to us.

Registration
On our site you can register with Synovate Pty. Ltd. to become a research panel member as well as part of our focus group database. As a member we will contact you to inform you of survey opportunities. To register you must provide contact details and demographic information such as postcode, age, gender and occupation. We use this information to determine your suitability to participate in future surveys. If you do not wish to give us your details over the web, please call The Field Department on 61 8 9321 5415. If at some time in the future you no longer wish to be a panel member you may opt - out.

Online Surveys
From time to time Synovate Pty. Ltd. will conduct various surveys on-line. If you provide identifying information for the purpose of an on-line interview, we will separate your personal details from your survey responses and store this in a secure file.

Identifiers
Synovate Pty. Ltd. will not adopt any respondents details as being its own, nor will we use any identifiers that have been assigned by the following:

  • An agency,
  • An agent of an agency acting in its capacity as an agent,
  • A contracted service provider for a Commonwealth contract acting in its capacity as contracted service provider for that contract.

Protection of Your Personal Details
Access to your personal information (provided by you from participating in an on-line survey or registering for panel membership) is restricted to authorised research personnel. We will only use this information for our own research purposes. The details you provide are not passed on or presented to any third party or foreign country or published in any form without your expressed consent. You will not receive any sales efforts or other commercial benefit simply because you have participated in a Synovate Pty. Ltd. survey.

When We Will Contact You
You will be asked if you would like to receive further correspondence from Synovate Pty. Ltd. when you participate in an on-line interview or register for a research panel. If you have given us permission we may contact you for future research or to send you information about the research we have been conducting.

Opt-out and Data Correction
Your participation in any research is entirely voluntary. If at any stage you decide you do not wish to receive any further correspondence from us about forthcoming surveys or updates on research we have conducted, please call us on 61 8 9321 5415 and we will delete details that you have previously provided. In all correspondence to you from Synovate Pty. Ltd. we will give you instructions on how to opt-out so that you will not receive any further correspondence from us if you do not wish to. You can at any stage update the information we have collected about you by telephoning us on 61 8 9321 5415. We will endeavour to keep your records up to date at all times.

Sensitive Information
Synovate Pty. Ltd. will never store the following information:

  • Racial or ethnic origin
  • Religious beliefs or affiliations
  • Political opinions or affiliations
  • Philosophical beliefs
  • Memberships of professional or trade associations
  • Sexual preferences or practices
  • Criminal record
  • Health matters of an individual

Cookies
During on-line research we will occasionally use cookies to help us with the research procedure. Our cookies contain small pieces of insignificant data such as the time, the date and the project ID. They are generated by our web-server and are temporarily placed on your computer in order to make the online research work more effectively. At no time does Synovate Pty. Ltd. use cookies to identify your computer's Internet address or to obtain unsolicited information from you.

Other Important Information
Synovate Pty. Ltd. will not interview or recruit to any panel a child under the age of 15 years without their parents or guardians consent. Synovate Pty. Ltd. takes no responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of, or the representations made by the content of sites, that link from Synovate Pty. Ltd. Synovate Pty. Ltd. maintains a strict "no-spam" policy. Your e-mail address will not be sold to a third party if you participate in an on-line survey or register as a member of a research panel.

Client Information
Our company uses information that identifies our clients and prospective clients for the purposes of customer service and new business development. This means that we use it to efficiently communicate with existing clients about projects and to actively communicate to prospective clients in offering our services. This might include sending letters, information, invitations to functions and seminars and occasionally gathering feedback through market research. The information we collect and store enables us to service clients effectively and match new business proposals and proactive materials to individual prospects.
